Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
This policy explains what personal data CraftNeck ("we", "us") collects when you use craftneck.com, why we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, email us at info@craftneck.com.
Who we are
craftneck.com is run by CraftNeck. We make WordPress plugins, SaaS products, booking platforms and websites. For the personal data described here, CraftNeck is the controller: we decide why and how it is used.
What we collect
When you contact us
When you send the contact form we receive what you enter: your name, email address and message, and, if you add them, your phone number, company and the product you are interested in. We also record the country your request came from (worked out from your internet connection) and your browser type, which helps us recognise spam.
When you email us
Emails you send to our addresses, such as info@ and support@, are kept in our mailbox together with any attachments, so we can answer and keep track of the conversation.
When you browse the website
- Visitor statistics without cookies. We count page views and visits ourselves without cookies. To recognise repeat visits on the same day we create a one-way code from your IP address and browser combined with a random value that changes every day. The code is deleted after one day and your IP address is never stored. We also keep totals of the website that sent you, your country and your device type (desktop, mobile or tablet). None of this identifies you.
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the website: for example which pages are viewed, how far people scroll, approximate location, device and browser. Google Analytics uses cookies. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked first, and these cookies are only set after you accept. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Cloudflare. The website runs on Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages quickly and protect the site from attacks. Cloudflare Web Analytics, which we also use, does not use cookies.
Cookies and similar technologies
- Your cookie choice. We remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies in your browser's local storage (
cn-consent). This is necessary for the website to respect your choice. - Analytics cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies such as
_gaand_ga_…to distinguish visitors. They usually last up to two years unless you delete them.
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or block and delete cookies in your browser settings.
Why we use your data
- To answer your enquiry, send quotes and provide support. This is needed to take steps you ask for before a contract, or is in our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us.
- To run and secure the website, for example to prevent spam and abuse. This is our legitimate interest.
- To understand and improve the website with visitor statistics and Google Analytics. Where the law requires consent we only use Google Analytics cookies with your consent. Otherwise this is our legitimate interest.
- To meet legal obligations, for example accounting and tax rules.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the website and our business, and only as much as they need:
- Cloudflare, Inc. for website hosting, security, and receiving and sending email.
- Google for Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, and as our email provider for messages forwarded to our inbox.
These providers may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where the law requires it, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our rights.
How long we keep data
- Enquiries and emails: for as long as we need them to handle your request and keep proper business records. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
- Daily visitor codes: deleted after one day. Visitor totals do not contain personal data.
- Google Analytics data: kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account, at most 14 months.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw your consent at any time without affecting what happened before. To use these rights, email info@craftneck.com. We will reply within the time the law requires. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Every page is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), access to our admin area is restricted and protected, and we work with established providers. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
Children
This website is not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
